Privacy Notice
Who we are
vLinc (“we”) is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number [ADD ONCE REGISTERED]). You can contact us at [[email protected]].
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email address and password (stored only as a hash).
- Profile data — the job title, company, phone number, one-liner, specialisations and links you choose to publish.
- Tap data — when someone taps your card or opens your profile we record the time, a hashed version of the visitor's IP address, the browser user-agent, and an approximate country and city. We never store raw IP addresses.
Our lawful bases
- Contract — to provide your account and publish your profile.
- Consent — for marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for aggregate tap analytics that show you how your card performs, and to keep the service secure. We use hashed identifiers to keep this proportionate.
Your profile is public
Anything you publish on your profile page is visible to anyone with the link, and may be indexed by search engines. Only include details you are happy to share publicly. You can unpublish your profile at any time from your dashboard.
How long we keep it
Account and profile data is kept until you delete your account. Detailed tap records are automatically deleted after 90 days; only aggregate counts are kept after that.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself from your dashboard, or email us and we will action it within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Processors we use
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage
- Vercel — application hosting and content delivery
Data is hosted in [CONFIRM YOUR REGION — set both to London/eu-west-2 where available].
